Let’s Take A Look At My Spanking New Watch Phone

ella with no clothes on”Hello again boys. This thing is probably the super cool relative of the Casio Watch. Now I personally think, and through experience, that a person who owns a Casio Watch must be as dull as grey. The conversation goes “I have a watch”, “Yeah…and??”,  “Its a calculator too!”, “Oh my god stay there while I find something to beat you with!!”. One look at this thing though will have Casio fans creaming their pants.

There are a few makes out there but I’m going to cover the ‘Gauntlet’. I got this watch off eBay for about a £130. I was a bit sceptical at first thinking I’d get it in the post and it would either brake in two seconds or it was a piece of plastic with no insides. I’ve got it and I must stress to you, people of Great Britain you must buy this watch!, it is awesome. Here’s some info:

The casing is by Rolex (I took it to a shop and they verified this for me saying it was a Pegasus) the innards are Nokia, its also unlocked and un-contracted so it will use any network. It looks really good not tacky at all. I have a Rolex Daytona and its that on steroids. It has a fully functioning 1.3″ TFT LCD touch screen which you can touch with you fingers just to illuminate the display to see the time, but the buttons on screen are too fiddly for your fingers so they have incorporated a stylus for ease of use.

The watch has the basic phone options like call features and texting. When you call you use a blue tooth device which syncs up nice and easy to your watch, it also has a loud speaker option in case you don’t want to use bluetooth, and the sound clarity is very good. When texting it brings up a good old ‘Qwerty’ keyboard on screen to use. The watch has more features than I can list which really does set it apart from the competition.

silver casio watchNot only does it tell the time and call people, it has a camera and video. The quality is all right, its not the best like some of these brand new phones, but still, the clarity of the pictures are shockingly good for such a compact device. It has full use of Internet services, same as mobile WAP so you can email or tweet or whatever you do on ‘tinternet’. You can watch TV on it, has MP3 and MP4 media player functions. The sound quality is very clear and it can go pretty loud. It also has a Radio, plus Quad band GSM connectivity. These things may not sound too new for a phone but remember all this is built in to a watch, Oh how far we have come in 10 years! Its quite sci-fi looking and sounding, and I haven’t stopped singing the James Bond tune when using it. Its big but not heavy and looks stylish and expensive so you won’t look like Ben 10 with it on your wrist. The battery life is lame at first, but once you have charged it a couple of time it lasts ages, the makers even claim it can last a week fully charged, but I have yet to prove that theory out.

For my money I got the watch, a manual, charger, bluetooth, the hands free set with the wires and a mini SD card. The only bad things I can say is you have to have good eyesight to play with this thing, as objects on screen can be small at times, like when texting. Also my blue tooth that came standard failed so had to go out a buy a new one. I have yet to meet some one who hasn’t looked at me like I’m a lunatic for taking pictures with a watch, or find someone who didn’t like it. I took it into Curry’s and you should have seen the ‘Tech guys’ swarm over it, I don’t think I would have got much more attention if I had walked in there topless! This is one cool gadget and I highly recommend it.”

You can pick one up at various outlets, but I found it here for £119.99.
